up to snuff

Now, this is cool! Penguins are coming in for a visit and they are not from Pittsburg. The Mogan Man brings the FINS Wet-A-Line Tour to Pinellas County. The new episode of AF takes us back to wintertime trout fishing. If the news gets any cooler, I'm digging out the scarf again!

Place your Betts! If you put your money on Largo, you got it. The Mogan Man will be at Betts Fishing Center this Saturday only for the FINS Wet A Line Tour. Come stock up on the first situational braid on the market and hang out with Capt. Blair Wiggins. Betts also stocks Blai'’s signature "Flats Blue" rods by Wright & McGill. While supplies last, reel in one of the cool new Addictive Fishing jerseys when you purchase a "Flats Blue" rod on Saturday. If the jerseys run out, be sure to mail a copy of your receipt to receive your jersey by mail. The AF Crew will have all the details on Saturday, April 16th @ Betts Fishing Center, 8926 126th Ave, Largo, FL 33773 at the corner of Starkey Rd. Call for more info:727.518.7637.

When Capt. Christian Yergens is not chasing tarpon of summer with a fly rod in the Pan Handle, he is stalking the shallow flats on the other side of the state for big gator trout. The Mogan Man joins Capt. Christian in Vero Beach for another Addictive Fishing "first." This is AF’s first show shot in Vero, home of giant trout, and the pristine shallow waters did not disappoint. Winter might be behind us but the techniques of using Baitbusters and MirrOdines prove productive throughout the rest of the year. Tune in Friday @ 10:30 am on SunSports. Replays can be caught Sunday @ 9:30 pm and Tuesday @ 6:30 am. Play it!

Don't miss our Project Snook segment in this week's episode. More than ever, Mote needs our support to keep the research going. Record cutbacks in state, federal and foundation spending caused by economic decline means our donations are crucial to the survival of the program. Visit Project Snook to make a donation today or bring it to us in person at any AF event. Every penny goes directly to Mote's snook research without worries of being wrapped up in administration costs. Invest in the future of our fisheries.

The Penguins are coming! These "Pens" are not coming to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL Playoffs. The black-footed penguins will be coming to Mote Marine in November for their limited time exhibit, Penguin Island. Visitors will get to see the penguins as part of their admission to the Aquarium. For an additional cost, you could have "Breakfast with the Penguins”"in November and December. For more information about the penguins and other Mote events, visit www.Mote.org.

The unofficial vet of the Dirty Dog Ranch is doing something cool too. Suncoast Veterinary Care Center is taking small item donations for a neighborhood yard sale being held Saturday, April 16th. All of the proceeds will be donated to Suncoast Friends of Animals. Suncoast Friends of Animals Foundation in a non-profit organization that is passionately committed to assisting animals in need through financial assistance, rehabilitation and adoption. Rocco and Max approve this message.

We got an email this week from longtime forum member, "Gatortroutboy." Mike has been living in Ft. Myers for a little more than a year and learning the surrounding waters via kayak. Mike's co-worker, John, has a canoe and together they have been silently stalking the flats of Pine Island Sound. Last weekend, the pair found more fish than they could shake their "Flats Blue" rods at. Both "slammed" before 9:30 am with catching trout, snook and redfish using topwater baits. We at AF talked it over and decided it must be the power of that hat that draws the fish in. Kevin has one just like it. Great pictures guys! We can even see the Project Snook stickers on the boats. Thank you for your support. Y’all earned the Mogan of the Week!

Cool as a sea cucumber,
BillBird
