spring thaw

The AF crew is back from the arctic temperatures of the Colorado Mountains and settling back into the warmer climates of Florida. They brought back lots of great photos and a bag of water to show this southern breed what snow looks like. It looks different in the pictures. Now, on with the real news…

Tag, you're it! Costa has a new style launching this week; Tag. Tag features the 360-degree co-molded technology and durable integral hinges for that "forget-they’re-on" fit we know and love. The name "Tag" comes from Costa's active support of sportfish and billfish tagging programs. Costa is as devoted to protecting our resources as they are to protecting our eyes. Look for more about Costa's new Tag in next week's Mogan Mail.

One of our own has joined the cause. Longtime Mogan Maniac, Mark Bellotte (aka CooKnFish), has been brought on to the FINS Pro Staff. Mark’s work on the kayak fishing front, his monthly column in Saltwater Angler Magazine and knowledge of the product makes him a perfect candidate to introduce FINS to anglers and tackle shops in the Tampa Bay area. Thursday, April 7th, Mark Bellotte will be giving a seminar at the South Shore Anglers fishing club at Little Harbor's Sunset Grill in Ruskin. The seminar starts @ 7:00 pm and everyone is welcome. There might even be someone playing Jimmy Buffett music on the patio. Guess which song we’re going to request . . .

Got space? Another new episode of Addictive Fishing is coming Friday! Tune into SunSports Friday @ 10:30 am for "Relentless Fog." The Mogan Man goes offshore with Capt. Mike Ellis to put a serious bend in the new Wright & McGill rods. We’ve got yellowfin and blackfin tuna on the menu in Louisiana as Blair drops a DOA Swimming Mullet over the side. Get your fix Friday or see it again Sunday @ 9:30 pm and again Wednesday @ 6:30 am. Put it on your DVR and you can watch it a few more times before another new episode airs next Friday.

They don't have to be big to be Mogans. John-Paul posted this beautiful trout caught in Biscayne Bay this week. It really brings out the blue in his 7’9" Flats Blue rod. John-Paul, thanks for the photo. We're happy to see you enjoying the Wright & McGill signature series rod. Send your pictures and stories to our FaceBook page and watch for our new web site which allows pictures and comments to be uploaded directly to the front page (coming soon!). You could be our next Mogan of the Week.

Help, I’m molting,
BillBird
