ALL SHOW AND NO GO

I think it is safe to say the north wind has puffed it's last puff for this season.

This mornings sunrise.

East Cape billfish remain very finicky. There has been a big showing of fish this week and we pitched bait after bait at them. Trying rigged ballyhoo, live horalitos and sardines the billfish would just flip us the fin. We also trolled every size and color marlin lure known to man. Once in a while a billfish would just kamakazi the lures but for the most part it was no go.

Dong did release a sailfish but fishing buddies Brad Avrit and Dong Nyguen had better luck with nice dorado

This fish ate a Halco GT jig

No, my sounder is not on demo mode. We were over a pod of white sided dolphin licking our chops waiting for tuna to start the party. It was all show and no go.

Today 14 year old Patrick Reardon battled a 40 pound class yellowtail

Here is one happy kid. Congrats to Patrick. He landed this nice yellowtail on an Boss BX400. That is the smallest reel Accurate makes. He handled the gear like a pro.

While Patrick was fighting the yellowtail a panga near us was boating a monster roosterfish.
