don't blink

We are already into the second month? Time flys when you’re having fun! The Mogan Man was in Ft. Myer last week for the FINS Wet A Line Tour. The shooting schedule for the 2011 season is underway and there are new products coming in the near future. We better keep both eyes open or we might miss out on all the excitement going on around us.

Did you make it out to the Florida Sportsman Show in Ft. Myers last weekend? There was good attendance and the Mogan Man had a great crowd during his seminars. Fans that came by the booth got a chance to see the difference that FINS braided lines provide. FINS had the line for sale at special show pricing and it was selling fast! Not every tackle shop carries the FINS brand yet. If your favorite shop doesn’t stock FINS, let them know to visit FINSFishing.com to start carrying the only situational line on the market.

Fans at the expo also got a sneak peek at the ever growing “Flats Blue” collection. Coming this summer, Wright & McGill will officially launch Blair Wiggins signature series fly rods and offshore rods. Now, with the already popular spinning and casting rods, “buggy whips” and “meat sticks” complete the “Flats Blue” arsenal to cover all of your fishing needs. Also on the slate for release this summer, larger models of the Sabalos spinning reels. This summer is going to be huge!

Billfish (not to be confused with BillBird) are on the menu! The 2011 shooting schedule has begun and already there has been leakage about upcoming episodes. The Mogan Man recently shot a show with the legendary billfish icon, Capt. Norm Isaacs. Isaacs is better known for fishing all over the world but now resides here in Florida. The average size for sailfish off Jupiter is 40 pounds but with the help of Norm’s expertise, Capt. Blair bagged a true Mogan at 70 pounds! That’s better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Fish on! Our fans on Facebook have been posting pictures from all along the eastern shores of Florida this week. Stripers are more commonly associated with New England but Buddy Warren has the Florida migration pegged. He took advantage of the schools and landed 31 fish on fly rod. Nice! Tim Feager chimed in with his mystery catch. Thanks to some other fans, mystery solved. Last but not least, Randall Thompson found the “meat pile”! Schools of redfish 300 thick can be found in the marsh when the tide comes in. Here’s looking at you, Randall. You are our Mogan of the Week! Keep the pictures coming guys!

Blind in one eye and can’t see out the other,
One Eye Willie (aka BillBird)
