get out of town

The arctic oscillation pans our way once more. The AF Crew is in North Carolina for a trade show and they are experiencing little more than a cool breeze. The hot item of topic is the Wright & McGill rods and Project Snook's dream come true. The team will be back as soon as travel is allowed but until then, the bird is at the helm. Full steam ahead!

Huge news coming out of Sarasota this week! Mote Marine was awarded a $25,000 grant from the Florida High Tech Corridor through University of South Florida. The money raised by Project Snook made this matching funds award possible… check that; donations made by Star brite, Dick's Sporting Goods, True Flies Clothing and most importantly, you, made this happen! The funds will be used for a high powered microscope that has an HD camera and computer setup. This will allow scientists and students to get a better look and record the data in beautiful high quality HD for later viewing and presentations. The grand total Project Snook has brought into Mote's snook research since July is now $42,570.00! That was just six months; what can we accomplish with the full year of 2011? Invest in the future of our fisheries and make your donation today at www.projectsnook.com or bring your donation to any of Capt. Blair’s event appearances this year.

Capt. Blair & Co. are in Raleigh, NC this week for the Big Rock East Show. This trade show brings manufacturers and dealers together to set the tone for what you will find stocked in your local tackle shops this year. The Mogan Man is there to represent his signature series rods by Wright & McGill and unveil the new promotional DVD put together by MPI. The DVD goes over the components and craftsmanship that goes into the "Flats Blue" rods that bares Blair's signature. Check out this video on YouTube and you’ll see what makes these inexpensive, lightweight and well balanced rods worth their weight in gold at a fraction of the price.
Holy Mogan, Fishboy! We had plenty of fan photos to choose from after the holidays but the look on Cru's face won us over. This future fishing guide already does it all at age 6. Cru throws a cast net, ties his own knots, selects his own lures, navigates to the fishing holes and puts grandpa on fish. All of that and he takes the time to cheese for the camera. Young Cru is our Mogan of the Week!

Turning the volume up on the video fireplace,

BillBird
