chilling

Here we go again! We don’t even like our ice cubes this cold in these parts but at least we are getting a break between fronts. Florida is expecting to see a warming trend going into the weekend before dropping back into the ice bath before it is over. Perfect timing of a passing front on Sunday may inspire some to build a pot of chili and watch a few episodes of Addictive Fishing.

Mr. Producerman has released more archives for our viewing pleasure. "Summer Stories" and "Cajun Bacon" should heat things up a bit. You can find the full episodes on the Addictive Fishing fan page on FaceBook or go toYouTube and check out the AF list of archives. There are enough episodes to keep you occupied during the next extended cold snap.

If you get blown off the water this weekend, perhaps you could do a little Christmas shopping. Give a gift that gives back! Mote Marine is offering alternatives to the hustle and bustle of shopping mall madness. Help support animal care programs through Mote's Adopt-an-Animal Program. Adoption levels range from $30 to $300. With each denomination come gratuitous benefits. To ensure delivery by Christmas, adoptions must be made by midnight December 12th.Another gift that is just as tasteful but more flavorful, locally grown sturgeon and caviar. Due to the delicate nature of such a delicacy, supplies are limited and pick-up times are specific. Mote is taking orders through 5pm, December 13th. E-mail Terri Deppe at terrid@mote.org to place your order today. If you cannot pick up your special order but still want to try Mote seafood, you can place an order at www.caviarstar.com and take advantage of a 30% discount with the special promo code MOTE2010. No matter which gift you give, proceeds go towards funding Mote Marine and their ever so important research efforts.

Breaking in the blue! Brandon Russell was showing off with his Blair Wiggins signature series Wright & McGill rod this week. He took the new "Flats Blue" out and got it bent with some Mogan redfish. Thanks for sharing your story with us, Brandon! You are the Mogan of the Week!

Donning the down jacket,
