I’m 90 miles from Cuba, floating on a 62’ luxury raft and fishing for my dinner.  Not bad, huh?  Actually, I’m writing this week’s blog from the Dry Tortugas while shooting another episode of AF.  We've been pretty lucky throughout our careers to visit some pretty cool places, and this one’s got to be close to the top of the list.  The Dry Tortugas are a small chain of coral islands located about 70 miles west of Key West (so really that makes me almost 20 miles from Cuba, right?) and the fishing here is awesome and we’re definitely catching a plethora of Mogans!

I’ve been on the road a lot lately, and I’ve been trying to keep up with all my emails, Facebook posts and questions and even hanging out in the Mogan Lounge a bit, but this is really my only chance to tell you what’s been happenin’.  Before I left for Key West, we just finished shooting with Capt. Billy Henderson in Crystal River. We got the show shot in 1 day (if you want to know what makes Mr. Producerman happy, get a show shot in 1 day)!  Caught some really nice black drum and got to show you their cool crushers up close . . . I think you’ll dig this episode. 

Mother’s Day is coming up and that usually means I’ll be on the water fishing with my Mom.  I always ask her what she wants for a Mother’s Day “present” and she always says, "to go fishing" . . . it’s the least I can do!  This year, I’m really excited because I’ll be able to give her an actual present - the new Mogan Maiden Inshore Rod by Wright & McGill, and yes, it’s Flats Pink.  She’s gonna love it!  Want to pick one up for your Mom, wife, daughter or girlfriend . . . visit www.dickssportinggoods.com.  My Mom’s gonna love it!
