Z Fish Report (9/20/12)

It is difficult to say how the fishing is here this week. There have been very few people fishing, with all the better captains staying at home. (A few tourists have chartered boats through “coyotes” for a cheap price and got their usual boat ride).

I do know the rains were heavy to the north of Ixtapa and have discolored the inshore waters up there. They have been considerably less south of Zihuatanejo, so if you want roosterfish, it will be better to go south. (A couple of different nights they got over 4 inches in two hours up near Troncones, whereas I live near the airport, and we got sprinkles).

From the Terrafin Satellite photos, the clean water is hugging the 100 fathom line all up and down the coast, and averaging about 85°.
