Francisco about to release the smaller of the two sailfish |
Early in the week (Monday) Captain Francisco on the panga Huntress II took his client ken from Idaho to the edge of the Petacalco Canyon, about 22 miles SW of Zihuatanejo. They released 2 sailfish, with one estimated about 110 pounds, and took 45 minutes to get to the boat.
Yesterday (Thursday) Adolfo, on the panga Dos Hermanos, fished way south and down near Puerto Vicente Guerrero looking for roosters and clean water. He found neither. They only found huge surf. It is one of the few times I have ever heard of him getting skunked.
Today they went out 22 miles and got two sailfish. Because of the very strong blue water current, Adolfo feels things will get back to being good again by the middle of this next week.
