Gord with a Porpy sailfish |
And, the sailfish action is heating up also. Gord Roberts fished with Noe on the panga Porpy for one day in the blue water. Out of 4 strikes they caught two, and Gord puts the blame on himself for not catching three. He said Noe let him try and set the hook. As he found out, it really is not as easy as the deckhands and captains make it look. They also got a nice dorado, which was invited to dinner that night.
Mecate, on the cruiser Aqua Azul, has been fishing this last three days with Mike Garrett and Steve Davidson of Arkansas. The 1st day they did not have much action except inshore on the way back. They caught about 40 black skipjack tuna (barrilettes). Mecate told me there is serious tonnage of the black skipjack tuna out there. The second day they got a couple of sailfish.
The dorado invited to dinner and prepared 6 different ways at Puerta del Sol by Gabby. As Gord explained, "it ws as good as it looks". |
